Musk claims to be uninformed of the reason Twitter India removed posts on the BBC documentary that criticised Modi.
Elon Musk admitted on Wednesday that he was unaware of "exactly what happened" when Twitter removed material associated with a documentary that criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year. He also noted that social media content regulations in India were "quite strict." India ordered the censoring of a BBC documentary in January, stating that even the sharing of any clips on social media was prohibited since the programme questioned Modi's leadership during the 2002 Gujarat riots. According to Kanchan Gupta, a government consultant, the government had instructed Twitter to remove more than 50 tweets that linked to the documentary's video.
